Chon-Kemin

Chong Kemin lies within the Tien Shan mountain range separating Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. This spectacular valley is famed for its natural beauty, abundant wildlife and rich, varied flora. The upper reaches of Chong-Kemin river is considered to be the biggest glaciations center. Mountains range on the eastern part form the mountain junction known as Kemin-Chelek.


Itinerary:

Morning

  • 08:30— Departure from Bishkek
    • 2 hour transfer by minivan
    • Short stop for coffee and snacks en route
  • 10:30 — Arrival at the Chon-Kemin horse riding base
    • Meeting with the horse riding instructor
    • Safety briefing and general preparation
  • 10:30–13:00 — guided horse ride through the valley
    • Route: meadows, Chon-Kemin River, as well as views of the surrounding mountains and landscape
    • Short stops for photos and rest
    • At any time along the way, you can feed the horses, or observe the flora and fauna

Afternoon

  • 13:00–14:00 — Lunch at the base or picnic in nature
    • Traditional Kyrgyz cuisine consisting of lagman, pilaf, tea
    • Vegetarian option available upon request
  • 14:00–16:00 — horse riding or an easy walking trail for those who want a shorter route
  • 16:00–17:30 — Return to base for a photo session
  • 17:30–19:30 — Transfer back to Bishkek
